Choose the right TV size

How choose the best TV size for your room

When you are looking for a new television, there are a number of things to consider. Choosing the correct TV size, for example. But what is the best choice? Are you going back and forth between a 55-inch and a 60-inch TV? Or are you unsure of which format is the best fit for your room?

The viewing distance as well as the resolution and where you want to place the TV are all important in making the best choice. We have put together a list of the most important factors for you.

Viewing distance to your TV

The further away from your TV you are, the more difficult it may be to read subtitles or see small details. However, if you are too close to a large screen, the details can disappear from the corner of your eye. In general, TVs smaller than 50 inch are ideal for a bedroom or kitchen. TVs between 50 and 65 inches are more suitable for the living room. And if you are looking to create a home cinema, screens of 70 inch and up are the ideal choice. In this example a 4K screen is taken into account.

Positioning of your TV

Will your new TV be placed on a cabinet or TV stand? Or will you mount your TV on the wall with a TV mount? There are many benefits for choosing wall mounting your TV. If you want to watch TV from different places in the room, a Full-Motion TV Mount is a great solution. It saves a lot of space in the room and you can easily turn the screen to prevent reflections. There are wall mounts available for any TV size and with different functionalities.

The resolution of your TV

The resolution is the number of pixels that come together to create the image on the TV. The higher the resolution, the more pixels there are and the sharper the image is. For example, a 4K or Ultra-HD (UHD) resolution is four times sharper than Full HD resolutions. With a small TV, you will not immediately see the difference in resolution. On larger screens, the difference in detail is more clearly visible. For example, do you already watch 4K TV or a lot of 4K Blu-ray DVDs? Then a larger screen is better for you than a smaller size.
