As an international A-brand for AV mounting solutions, we want to be at the forefront of our product development. That means sustainable product development, too. To understand how we can take sustainable steps for our current and future products, we use life cycle analysis software (Ecochain). You will find these analyses for TV wall mounts such as COMFORT full-motion and fixed. What exactly does this mean for you as a consumer? We explain in this blog.
GWP stands for Global Warming Potential
GWP is expressed in kilograms of CO₂ equivalent
With every product development, we map GWP
Goal is to have the lowest possible GWP per product
Vogel's. For Tomorrow.
Before going further into the results of the analyses, it is important to understand what Global Warming Potential (GWP) means. Put simply, GWP is a measure that reflects a product's impact on global warming. This is expressed in kilograms of CO2 equivalent. This calculation considers different types of greenhouse gas emissions, from production and material extraction to product transportation. This reduces a complex mix of emissions to an understandable measure: the contribution to climate change.
We use life cycle analysis software as a tool to calculate GWP. From materials to production steps, we place every part of our product in a dedicated database with impact data. This gives us detailed insight into the environmental impacts. This includes the impact of transport and recycling. External validation of these calculations ensures an accurate and reliable calculation.
But now you may be wondering, "What does this have to do with me?" Quite a bit! Firstly, by choosing a TV wall mount from Vogel's, you are choosing a company that is conscious of its carbon footprint. Take the swivel TVM 3645 TV wall mount, for example; with a GWP of 18.44 kg CO2 eq. this is equivalent to a 55 km car journey.
Because Vogel's products are designed to last, you don't have to buy a new mount with every new TV. That in turn saves extra production and procurement costs for you.
