Working more efficiently with multiple screens

Monitor Mount, control room | Vogel's

Working at a computer requires concentration and sometimes even degree of multitasking when information comes from different sources. To make that more efficient, it helps to set up a workstation with two or more screens. According to various studies, people find it a lot more comfortable and effective to work with two or more monitors.

Higher productivity

Working with two monitors also helps increase productivity. Working with two or more screens side by side allows for more freedom of movement between information sources on the screens. For example, a mail application may be open on one screen. While researching new customers on the other screen.

Also for creative subjects, there are plenty of opportunities to work with multiple screens. With the ability to pull the screen towards you and tilt it while the other displays information, everyone's work becomes easier.

Ergonomic sitting posture of employees

Besides the benefits in efficiency and productivity of people working behind a screen, setting up office spaces properly also brings ergonomic benefits. Are you opting for two or more screens at a workstation? Then consider the right viewing angle and distance. This is different from working with a single monitor.

Optimal arrangement multiple displays

With a flexible monitor arm, there are multiple ways to position two screens next to each other. This can include right next to each other, side by side at a small angle or even one screen in landscape mode and the other in portrait mode. Vogel's MOMO 4237 or MOMO 2237 can easily turn the screen.

Viewing distance with two screens

As an example, let's take two screens side by side at a small 15-degree angle. To determine the ideal viewing distance, consider the size of the monitors. On average, the best viewing distance is between 60 and 90 cm from the seated position. The rule of thumb is that a relatively large viewing distance is less stressful for the eyes. The characters on the screen should then be proportionally sized.

If an average desk is 80 cm deep, the base of the monitor often already takes up some centimetres. Therefore, we recommend a monitor arm that is clamped to the desk or mounted against the wall.
